Two Scrapbook Friends Online Crop

This weekend I participated in my first online crop at the Two Scrapbook Friends message board. They had some wonderful challenges posted, as well as two rather challenging games of Scrabble (which I'm proud to say that I solved). I'm also proud to say that I finished all five of the challenges well before the deadline.

There were two sketch challenges. Here are the layouts I completed for those challenges.

The word challenge required us to use the word Play. For this challenge I scraplifted a layout for an IceCROPades challenge at The Scrapping Nook.

I created this card for the colour challenge.

This layout was for the In With The NEW challenge and required us to use pairs of things. I used 2 brads, 2 different colours of ink, 2 patterned papers, 2 photos, 2 photo mats, 2 flowers, 2 different fonts, 2 styles of glitter, 2 flourishes, and 2 stamped images.

Winter Wonder Online Crop

I had a pretty busy weekend so I wasn't able to participate in the Winter Wonder Online Crop at The Scrapping Bug the way I would have liked to. I love their online crops!!!! The ladies on the Design Team are so talented and have great ideas. I have a list of challenges I hope to get done in the near future. I did manage to get three of the challenges done, as well as a couple of games. I had fun and look forward to the next one!!!

The first challenge I completed was the Bright and Cheery challenge. We were to scrap a Spring or Summer photo with bright cheery colours. I came up with Spring Beauty, a layout of the beautiful iris that grew beside our driveway last Spring. I stamped the flourishes then added Black Diamond Stickles to them.

The second challenge I did was the Card Sketch challenge. We were given a great sketch to work from and I created my card. I used October Afternoon papers and a cute stamp set from Prima. I actually really like this card.

The final challenge that I completed before the deadline was the Embrace challenge. We were required to use the word 'embrace', add some bling and use one tag. I used this beautiful diecut paper and bracket overlay from My Little Yellow Bicycle, some Prima bling and a tag I punched out. I stamped it with a Studio G stamp, then used my Gelly Roll clear star pen on it and to trace the title letters (Pink Paisley). I even outlined the overlay with Glossy Accents.

Recent Layouts

Here are four layouts I've completed recently.

"I Believe In Santa" was for the Believe challenge at Sisterhood of Scrap. I had to create a layout about something I believe in ... well, I believe in Santa ... and so do my children. Santa is the symbol of giving and that is what Christmas is all about -- giving. If God hadn't 

given the world His only son long ago in Bethlehem we wouldn't even have Christmas or the salvation that came from our Lord's sacrifice. So yes, I believe in Santa and all that he symbolizes. Besides, it is always better to give than to receive.

"Sweet" was completed for the Embellish It challenge at Sisterhood of Scrap. I had to have an embellishment cluster in one area of the layout. I love this picture of Sara taken at Mexicali Rosa's. She looks so sweet.

"Toy Store Fun" was completed for the sketch challenge at Sisterhood of Scrap. I used the new October Afternoon Hometown line for this layout. Love these pics of Sara at Toys R Us.

"Hey Little Girl" was completed for this week's Fresh Faces main challenge "Make Up" at WeScrap. It was all about covering up. I used red paint, Twinkle paint, Stickles, chalk, 'blushed' on some Brilliance ink, Glossy Accents, mini buttons AND nail polish!!!!!! Yes, I actually painted the chipboard heart with nail polish. It turned out pretty cute.

I love this unplanned photo of Sara taken at Applebee's -- thought it was so cute how she was looking up at Elvis.

Voting at WeScrap is open until the end of Sunday. This week's vote is for layouts in the main challenge # 3.

Mini Challenges

Tara has posted a couple of fun mini challenges on her blog.

The first was to create a card of thanks. I used my Cuttlebug for the first time on this one, as well as my Chocolate Box coredinations.

The second was a quote challenge. Tara gave us some quotes and we had to choose one to use on a layout or card. I used mine as the title for my layout. Love that pic of Sara wearing Sam's lion hat. Sooooo cute!!!!!

Two More For Tara

I have two more layouts finished for Tara's blog challenges.

"5 Things" is for the 5 Things About Me challenge. My five things are:

1. I have felt the hand of God and it is glorious.

2. I truly believe that when a door closes God opens a window.

3. Sara, Samuel and Gary are my gifts from God.

4. I know someday I will walk with my Daddy and Grandma again.

5. I'm deeply in love with my Lord and I never walk alone.

"Joy" is for the sketch challenge. The sketch was designed by Lucy Chesna for Tara's blog. I love these photos of Sara in the orchard.

Layouts for WeScrap's Wicked Halloween Online Crop

My friend Patty and I have been enjoying the challenges and games at the WeScrap Wicked Halloween Online Crop. We played an amazing bingo game that had everyone on the edge of their seats it was sooooo close. I would have loved it if I could have completed all of the challenges posted, but this was a busy weekend for me. These are the ones I did get completed.

"Fear" is a layout for two challenges actually: the Scared Yet challenge at WeScrap and  Tara's blog challenge (see previous post for the journaling and a link to Tara's blog) -- it is all about the journaling, with some doodling to support it.

"Happy 1st Birthday" was for the Wing of Bat, Eye of Newt challenge. We were given instructions on how to create the layout (i.e. 3 photos, piece of ephemera, double mat one photo, etcetera) and then were told to put it all together. It was fun and very interesting to see how all the different layouts turned out even though the instructions were the same.

"Talk About Spooky" was for the Let's Face It challenge. I had to create a face to use on the layout. Gary was a very good sport about this one :) He actually loved what I did with his face lol.

"My Guys" was completed for the Wicked Layout Sketch challenge. I turned the sketch on it's side and made a few slight changes. Love my guys!!!!

"Wild Thing" was for the Batty Layout Bingo challenge. I chose the following three things: 1) use something Halloween related (paper and photo), 2) add some stitching (mine is doodled, around the photos), and 3) use two types of ribbon. Isn't Sara adorable in her giraffe costume? Oh, guess now you know what she is going to be for Halloween LOL!!!!

"Little Lion King" was for the really cool Haunted Halloword challege. I had to select some words from a Halloween list (I chose nine) and then each of those words was assigned a layout requirement that I had to use on my layout. I chose All Hallows Eve (brown and yellow), ghost (white), magic (doodle), ogre (one photo), pointed hat (handwritten journaling), raven (3 circles), web (bling), witch (black cardstock) and wizard (tear paper). And now you know what Sammy is dressing as for Halloween too!!!!

More Scrapping Nook Challenge Layouts

The Scrapping Nook held a mini online crop in honour of Margo's birthday on October 7th. I was excited to play along, especially since Margo and I share the same birthdate (although different years). I won a RAK for getting the correct answer in a game they played -- the RAK is courtesy of another person named Heather -- isn't that funny? I did three layouts for the challenges they posted - and all three ended up being Halloween layouts.

"First Halloween" was for the Halloween challenge - Margo loves Halloween!!! The layout is of Sara's first Halloween along with her friend Jadyn (he's Tigger). Aren't they cute?

"She's Grreat" was for the Margo challenge - I had to use things that used the letters in Margo's name. For this layout I used Making Memories papers, American Crafts Thickers, Ribbon, Glitter letters and Orange. That's my sweet girl in her lion costume on her first Halloween!!! Isn't she adorable?

"The Good Witch" was for the Use Your "Old" Stash challenge. The papers were the oldest ones I could find -- they were at the bottom of my stack of papers that I thought I would never use so they must be older. Amazingly, now that I see them together on this layout I actually like them :) This is Sara modeling a witch costume we picked up for her at the used store for her to play dress up with. She really loved it, although the netting wasn't well sewn so my Mom had to do some fixing on it. Isn't my girl beautiful?

Simply Fabulous

I thought I better post a "pretty" layout today to balance out the "gross" one from my last post. It isn't often that we have a reason to take a picture of Sara that isn't adorable and beautiful. This layout is a great example. Sara loves playing in the backyard and loves posing for the camera when she is dressed in pretty outfit -- well, most times :) She is also a master of facial expressions.

"Simply Fabulous" was completed for the Cut It Out challenge at LIITD. I cut out two circle sections of this We R Memory Keepers paper so that the photos could be placed behind. I then did some accents with my Stickles to make small sections of the paper sparkle.

"Sam's Static Hair" is a layout I created to showcase these fun pictures of Sam.

"Dish Duty" was created using a sketch by Ally at SoSketchy. I created if for a challenge at LIITD to use at least two pieces of chipboard (I used 5).

"Forever Together" is about my brother's wedding. It was created using the Vita Bella line from My Little Yellow Bicycle -- love that line!!!! I created it for a layout contest at Simply Scrapping. If you happen to be in Cambridge, drop by the Southworks Outlet Mall, go to Simply Scrapping and vote. My mother, who is a newbie to scrapping, also entered a layout, as did my friend Pat. Please come and vote for your favourite!!!!!! Thanks :)

"Our Family" was a kit from Two Scrapbook Friends. The layout showcases pictures from our 6th anniversary :)

Love Is In The Details

I'm working hard to complete the challenges posted at Love Is In The Details for their online crop. Time doesn't seem to be on my side on this one, but the important thing is that I'm having fun. If you've never visited Love Is In The Details you should pop by their forum -- there's a great group of people waiting to welcome you!!!! Or you can check out the blog.

Now to the layouts. "Pretty In Pink" is for the Scrap Pink challenge -- Lori at LIITD is making a donation to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation for each pink layout posted --- yeah Lori!!!!!!! What a great reason to do a layout!!! "You Hold My Heart" is my layout for the Hearts challenge -- I had to use at least three different sized hearts. The photo on this one was taken on Gary's birthday -- I love my wonderful family!!!!!! "Laugh" was for the pattern paper only challenge -- I couldn't use anything except paper. Thank goodness Fancy Pants has pattern papers that are cards and strips with words -- made my life easier LOL!!!!

I'm off to work on more challenges -- I'm doing a tradition one right now that has me doing Christmas --- YIKES!!!!! 

The Summer of 69 is Almost Over

This is it. 

The last week for The Summer of 69 crop at The Scrapping Nook. I've really enjoyed spending time with all the wonderful ladies from The Nook this summer. The challenges have been amazing and so much fun. You can bet I will be hanging around their forum from now on :) 

I still have some things to finish. I have some more photos to post and some to still capture as well. Better get a move on with that. I need to do some pictures with my Bryan as well. He and I need to write a song/poem and then I need to do a layout about my summer with Bryan. LOL -- lots of fun still to go!!!

These are my latest layouts. "No Fun Waiting" is for the Shake It Up challenge -- my first time using Magic Mesh and one of my few attempts using rub ons. "Happy Birthday Gary" is for the Stick It To Me challenge -- I had to alter the stickers for this challenge.

Two Layouts This Evening

I have two layouts to post this evening - both completed for the challenges at The Scrapping Nook for the Summer of 69 crop. "I Did It" was done for The Cutting Edge challenge, which required the use of non-straight edges. I used the September 1st Sketch It sketch posted on the Cutters Creek Yahoo group for this layout. "With Eyes Wide Open" is for the Do I Have To Say The Words challenge. This week's word was 'open'. 

The Summer of '69 crop will be winding down very soon. I've had a lot of fun playing along and would like to say a huge THANK YOU to everyone involved for making it such a great crop!!!!! They are an awesome group of people!!!!!! Thank you Scrapping Nook!!!! It has been awesome!!! I'll be sad to have it come to an end, but I'll be sticking around to be part of the next fun event you have :)

Some Recent Layouts

The first one was completed for the "Bling It Up" challenge at SoCalScrap. The other three were for challenges at The Scrapping Nook - the challenges in order were 

"Camera Shy" - my relationship with the camera

 "Sew You Think You Can Scrap" - had to have some form of sewing on it, mine is hand sewing

 "Then and Now" - comparing myself over ten years ago and today
