May's Mystery Kit

This month's Mystery Kit from The Scrapping Turtle was a beautiful one. The papers were lovely to work with and the embellishments were perfect. I hand cut some of the flowers from the paper, then used my Fiskars punches to creates some layered flowers. I inked two of the chipboard flowers and covered the third with paper before inking the edges. I painted the bottle cap to look like a lady bug based on a tutorial I found here. I highlighted the stems and leaves with a bit of doodling and doodled around the photo mat.

Drop by The Scrapping Turtle forum to see the wonderful things that the other ladies did with the mystery kit this month.

Bisous PDQ Layout

PDQ stands for Pretty Darn Quick. It is a great line of papers that you can either use as is and simply attach your pictures or you can cut them apart to create fun layouts. The paper is a product of Bisous and you can visit their website here

Mom and I were lucky enough to take a Bisous PDQ class at The Scrapping Turtle a little while ago. We had a lot of fun with the teacher, Suzanne Carillo. I still have to add photos to one of the layouts we did and finish the other one, but I do have one of the layouts completed so far. Blessed is my version of Suzanne's Lucky layout that she taught us in class.

Spring Layout

I finally managed to put pictures on this wonderful layout I did at Scrapfest. It was designed by Lucy, owner of Simply Scrapping. It was the make and take Friday night at their booth.  I loved making those cool flowers. Thanks Lucy!!!!

$100 in Quickutz

What does $100 in Quickutz look like?

How about this ....

I entered a Quickutz draw at the wonderful scrapbook store in Burlington called Forever Scrapbooks. I love visiting Cindy and the store whenever I get the chance to head down that way. I am always incredibly inspired by Cindy's beautiful displayed layouts. She is very very talented. I was thrilled when Cindy called me to let me know that I'd won one of the incredible prizes in their draw. So now I have some more wonderful Quickutz goodies to enjoy :) Thanks Forever Scrapbooks!!!!! Thanks Cindy!!!!!

Friends Award

Joanne, a dear lady and great inspiration, gave me this Friends award awhile back. I've been meaning to post it on my blog, but as usual time got away from me. Thank you Joanne for such a sweet award!!!!! You can check out Joanne's lovely blog here.

The award is accompanied by this description:
"These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in self-aggrandizement. Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these writers. Deliver this award to eight bloggers who must choose eight more."

That really touched my hear. Thank you Joanne!!!!

I'd love to award it right back to Joanne, because she exemplifies so many wonderful qualities of a friend, but I think the idea is to send it forward. So I choose the following eight people to receive the award:

Molly

Have a great day!!!!

Quickutz Anonymous Projects

I've been a little behind with finishing up my Quickutz Anonymous projects and getting them posted. For the most part that means just adding the photos. I realized tonight that I haven't posted any of them since January, so I managed to get some photos added to a few. The projects were all designed by the very talented Lori at The Scrapping Turtle. I love the ideas that Lori comes up with for us every month.

Here are the calendar pages Lori designed for February and March. Now that I have photos on them I can put them away in the album.

Keys To My Heart was one of our February projects (I still have another one to add photos to). I thought it was perfect for these pics of us on Valentines' Day.

Splish Splash was a March project. I love this layout!!!!!! It is so fun!!!! I love the difference the Glossy Accents made on the die cuts and letters. It was the perfect layout for these action shots of the children playing in the puddles out back during the rain.

More to come as soon as I get pictures done. Hopefully I'll get them up before the June Quickutz Anonymous class LOL.

QA Homework From April

Last month Lori at The Scrapping Turtle gave us homework to do after our Quickutz Anonymous class. We were supposed to create something with the scraps that were left over from the projects we created. I used the rainbow pieces to create my Rainbow Wishes card. I love the embossing that I did on the clouds.

You Are My Sunshine

I completed another kit designed by the very talented ladies at Two Scrapbook Friends. I love the pinwheels on this one and the bright colour. The pictures are of the children in our backyard having fun.

May 5x5 Challenge

I created this card with the wonderful goodies Carolyn sent out for the May 5x5 challenge at The Scrapping Turtle. Thanks Carolyn!!!!!

Happy Victoria Day

I hope everyone is enjoying this beautiful Victoria Day!!!!! The sun is shining and it is a glorious day. We unfortunately had to change our plans for today, but that is okay. My precious girl is really sick today, but thankfully is resting comfortably on the couch now. We're hoping that she is over the worst of it now. We'll have our picnic and go fishing another day when she is feeling better.

I managed to get a little scrapping in yesterday. The first one I did was a kit designed by the lovely ladies at Two Scrapbook Friends. I love all the owls and I love the photos of Sara making faces while we were waiting for Daddy to come out of the store. She really is a hoot!!!!!

The second layout was for a product challenge at Two Scrapbook Friends. The incredibly talented Karan put together some mini kits and challenged us to create a layout. This is what I came up with for the month of May. The photos were taken on Friday when we stopped for breakfast (hence why there is food on Sam's face LOL).

A Couple of Quick Layouts

My Mom did a cute make and take at Scrapfest that I didn't get a chance to do. She picked up the owls I needed to create my own, so I made these up really quickly. I decided that they didn't need a title. I'm not sure what booth she made it at, so I don't know who to give the credit to. As you might be able to guess, these are my babies. In the photos they are each only a couple of days old and sleeping sweetly.

Lime Rickey

Have you seen the new Lime Rickey line from Basic Grey? I love the colours in this one. I don't usually like a complete line of Basic Grey, but this one was a must have. I even picked up the card kit that goes with the line. Aren't they fabulous?

Quickutz Spring Gift Sets

Have you seen the new Spring Gift Sets from Quickutz? They are awesome!!!!! I wish I could get them all, but I have to be happy with one for the time being.

Last weekend for National Scrapbook Day, The Scrapping Turtle offered make and takes using the new Gift Sets. Throughout the day you could create a card using one of the four new sets. The cards were designed by Lori - she is so creative!!!!

I love the font for Relax!!! It is a fabulous summer set for all of those wonderful beach layouts. I love the turtle and the crab.

I can picture so many girly layouts with Sara when I look at Flirt. If I get permission from hubby to add another set to my collection I think this will be my choice.

Enjoy is a great summer set too, perfect for those BBQ layouts and cards. I personally love that ant.

My favourite set is ReUse. That is the one that Gary agreed I could add to my personal Quickutz collection. I love all the trees on it.

If you noticed, each of the cards is also embossed. Those are the new Quickutz Embossing Folders and they are fabulous. Check them out at Quickutz here.

All of the Spring Gift Sets and the Embossing Folders are available at The Scrapping Turtle. If you like what you see you might want to hurry over there and pick some up.

Make and Take at Two Scrapbook Friends

The lovely Carolyn at Two Scrapbook Friends created another fabulous make and take this week. Mom and I stopped in on Friday to create this cute little Mother's Day arrangement. Sara had a great time helping me create mine. Carolyn designed it using the Doodlecharms Cricut cartridge. Thanks Carolyn!!!!!! I love mine!!!!

National Scrapbook Week at Two Scrapbook Friends

The lovely ladies at Two Scrapbook Friends hosted a week long online celebration for National Scrapbook Day. Each day from Monday until Saturday challenges were posted in the forum. There were a lot of fabulous challenges. Thankfully they allowed us to combine challenges, so I was able to get more done.

In addition to the challenges below, I completed the following non layout/card challenges:
Carolyn's Before and After challenge ~ see earlier post
Karan's Gallery Crawl
Patti's Word Scramble

All Of Us: I purchased this little mini kit at Two Scrapbook Friends for this challenge. Everything that I used on the layout was in the kit except for the title "All Of Us" which is a Soft Spoken embellishment and the marker I used for the doodling and journaling. The pictures are of us in front of Turtle Jack's on Easter Sunday.

Challenges: Karan's Product challenge

Happy Birthday Card: A fun little card using orange and lime green (which are the favourite colours of Patti from The Scrapping Nook).  I love that little stamp!!!

Challenges: Laura's Orange challenge
*** I combined this with a challenge for Patti's birthday crop at The Scrapping Nook.

O' Canada: This is a patriotic Canadian layout about why I'm proud to be Canadian. I forgot to note the paper manufacturer before gluing it down. I think if might be Karen Foster, but I could be mistaken.

Challenges: Cheryl's Oh Canada

Easter '09: I used Reminisce Easter papers for this layout and alphabet stickers from American Crafts. I love these photos of my brother Stephen with my children at Easter.

Challenges: Patti's 8675-309 challlenge

Spring Bling Card: I used Kaisercraft papers and bling to create this card. I added some flowers from my stash and used my Fiskars border punch.

Challenges: Joanne's Spring Bling challenge

I Wish I Wish To Be A Fish: I love the Snorkel line from Cosmo Cricket - the bright colours, the little fish -- cute cute cute!!!!!  I outlined some of the fish with my gold glitter pen. I added Stickles in Crystal and Tiara to the circles. I also used Stix2 Seed Beads and Fine Glitter on some of the circle.

Challenges: Laura's Glittery challenge
Patti's Beach challenge
Carolyn's Circle challenge
*** I combined this challenge with the Product Highlight at The Scrapping Turtle because it uses Stix2.

If I Could: Paper from Pink Paislee, Jillibean Soup and KI Memories. I added a chipboard arrow, chipboard brackets, chipboard letters (Thickers) and a chipboard clock (Heidi Swapp).

Challenges: Karan's Chipboard challenge
Joanne's Number challenge
Karan's Time challenge

Sweet: I used purple (my favourite colour) Daisy Bucket papers for this layout. I added faux stitching around the outside of the layout, around the photo mat and around the circles. I used Bazzill In Stitch'z to sew the word Sweet.

Challenges: Carolyn's Favourite Colour challenge
Laura's Sketch challenge
Patti's Stitch Me I'm Yours challenge

Family Thing: Paper is from We R Memory Keepers Grandma's Kitchen and Sassafras Lass Bungle Jungle. I added Thickers, a Quickutz vine border, and flowers from my stash. Love this photo of Sara demonstrating one of our family traits.

Challenges: Karan's Distressing challenge
Karan's Sketch challenge
Cheryl's Quirky Habit challenge

Laugh: I used the wonderful Jillibean Soup papers and a We R Memory Keepers Pinwheel paper to create this layout based on Laura's sketch. I made the pinwheels into flowers and used the word Laugh for my title.

Challenges: Laura's Sketch challenge
Patti's Word Specific challenge
Joanne's Pinwheel challenge

You Hold The Key To My Heart: I wasn't able to use any patterned paper on this one so everything is cardstock. I dressed it up by using several of my Fiskars border punches. I added the metal key, heart and photo corners. The photo was a poor quality one that I lightened, but it is still grainy and the colours are off.

Challenges: Patti's It's All Metalistic challenge
Cheryl's Patterned Paper Be Gone challenge
Laura's Bad Photo challenge

My Love 4 U Is Outta This World: I used two Quickutz dies on this one - Saturn and Rocket Ship. I also used a Daisy Bucket stamp for the world, some brads, chipboard stars, two different fonts from Thickers, a foam star stamp, and lots of circles, rings and squares.

Challenges:  Carolyn's Square challenge
Patti's Stash It challenge
Patti's Solar System challenge

Mom's Day Cards: The card on the left was embossed with my new Quickutz Embossing Folder and coloured with a Copic marker. The card on the right was embossed with a Cuttlebug embossing folder and chalked with Colorbox Chalk Ink.

Challenges: Laura's Card Sketch challenge
Laura's Embossing challenge

Thanks for all the great challenges ladies!!!!! I had a lot of fun doing them!!!

A Card For Jack

On Earth Day a new little Turtle entered The Scrapping Turtle pond -- adorable Jack Thomas made his way into the world. He already has a huge fan club!!!!! Congratulations to Hannah and Bob!!!!! He's super precious!!!!

Dee posted a card challenge for this week and I jumped on it as an opportunity to create a card for Turtle Jack. Her challenge was to use a die cut, use green, and to emboss (heat or dry). I decided to try both heat and dry embossing on my little card. The turtle, egg, label and letters are all Quickutz.

Final WeScrap Boot Camp Layout

Our final challenge in the WeScrap DT Boot Camp required us to work in a team to create an online crop. I was very lucky to work with Scarlette, Karen and Lisa to create our Eco-Fabulous Crop. We each created a challenge and contributed clues to the I Spy game we created.

For my challenge I selected five fabulous layouts from the WeScrap Gallery. Participants are required to Recycle at least one thing from each of those layouts and create a new Eco-Fabulous layout. This is my sample layout for the challenge.
