My Last Reveal

Today my last reveal with the current Design Team was posted on the Scrapping Turtle forum. This has been such an incredible experience for me -- I've had the honour of representing a wonderful store, working closely with the very talented ladies on the Design Team (love you girls!!), and inspiring an amazing group of Turtles on the forum!! Thank you to Hannah, Lori, Teresa, Bev, Shirley, Janet and Laura at the store for their wonderful support and friendship!! Thank you to Tracey, Mellissa, Marissa, Anne Marie and all of our fabulous Guest Design Team members for seven wonderful months!! Thank you to everyone who is a Turtle in the Scrapping Turtle pond -- you make the forum a wonderful place to be!!

Now on to my reveal :)

This month I worked with the gorgeous Jazmyne line from Bo Bunny. This line is part of their Limited Edition Glitter Series and it is fantabulous!!! The papers are all glittered and gorgeous. The embellishments are fabulous. I loved working with it and still have lots of paper left to make more wonderful projects.

"I Do" is a layout of my Grandma's second wedding. She had a rough first marriage which ended with her being a widow. She met the man who I would grow up calling my Grandpa and fell in love with him. The story of their love would make a good movie in my opinion. He was truly the love of her life and her soulmate. They were married in 1963, proving that "Sometimes life gives us a second chance at love".

"Follow Me" showcases Sara at Brantwood Farms. She was showing her independence by walking ahead of us, but she kept looking back to make sure that we were following.

"A Sister Is" showcases one of my favourite photos of my Grandma and her sister when they were very very young. They were more than sisters, they were best friends and kindred spirits. They had a strong connection throughout their entire lives and were two of the most amazing women I've ever had the honour of knowing. I love them and miss them both very very much.

I hope you will visit the Scrapping Turtle forum to see the fabulous reveals of my fellow Design Team members. They are wonderful!!!

Read All About It

One of the Summerfest week five challenges at The Scrapping Nook was focussed on the 5 W's -- Who, What, When, Where, and Why.

"Slide" came together rather easily. Bo Bunny paper, three photos of Sara showing a progression on the slide, American Crafts Thickers and brads, Doodlebug brads, some doodled stitching, the 5 W's for journaling, and some arrows created using my Quickutz Arrows die. The most time consuming part was piercing the holes in the semi circles for the brads --- thank goodness I only had to follow the pre marked design LOL.

I'm still two challenges behind from week five --- teaches me for not getting them done on time. LOL!!!! But first I should do the challenges for week eight, so they will get in on time and I will get full points. Wish me luck :)

Two Scrapbook Friends Online Crop February 27th

Two Scrapbook Friends held another wonderful online crop this weekend. There were six great challenges as well as an I Spy game. Sadly I am not that great at solving Karan's riddles for the game, but I did very well on the challenges. I actually had a lot of fun doing them (of course!!!).

Joanne gave us a wonderful colour challenge using my favourite coloure -- purple!!!!! We were allowed to use the colours in a very pretty container of flowers that she posted. I made a card, using some paper from my stash. I cut out some of the flowers and pop dotted them for dimension. My grandma would have really loved this card I think.

Carolyn's challenge was a circle challenge so we had to use circles in some way on our creations. I created a card using a tutorial from the internet that Debi from Kentucky posted on my Cricutlovers group. I love this little card - it was so fun to make and I got to use my brand new Kaiser owl paper!!!!

Karan posted two sketch challenges - a single page and a double page. Both were awesome sketches. I was quite pleased with how these layouts turned out. Bloom uses the My Mind's Eye Bloom & Grow line -- beautiful papers. A Dab'll Do uses the new Bo Bunny Mechanic line, as well as a die cut paper from Colorbok and some Scenic Route arrows.

Patti gave us an ad challenge. I used the colour scheme as well as the general layout of the ad in my layout. These papers were from my stash.

Patti also gave us a lyrics challenge. We had to use the title of a song as well as some of the lyrics in the actual layout. I've been wanting to create this layout ever since I first heard the Rascal Flatts song. I think of Gary every time I hear it. I used some more of my new Kaiser papers on this one too.

Halloween Layout Class

My Mom and I took a Halloween layout class at Simply Scrapping on November 2nd. I finally got around to adding my photos to the layouts. These layouts were done with the Spooktastic layout class kit from Bo Bunny.
