Cards from Sketches

One of the wonderful things about sketches is that you can find them for more than just sketches. There are also many sketches available to help you create beautiful cards. One of our weekly challenges on the Scrapping Turtle forum is a card sketch.

The following cards were made from sketches from PageMaps, which is a fabulous resource for sketches.

This card is based on a sketch by Lucy Chesna.

This is the most recent card sketch, as posted by Brenda, our Guest Design Team member for March .

Please visit our forum to see what the rest of the DT did with the same sketches, as well as many others.

Scrapping Turtle Design Team Challenges

I realized that I didn't post some of the projects I have created for some of the Design Team challenges at the Scrapping Turtle.

Mellissa ran a Tags Galore challenge for several weeks. I had the best of intentions, but life got in the way. Here are two that I created based on a PageMaps sketch:

I created this card based on Vicki's fabulous guest Design Team card sketch:

Tanya gave us a wonderful card sketch to work with and that was the basis for this card:

This card was for Anne Marie's challenge to create a non-traditional Christmas card. That meant we couldn't use the traditional colours:

Marissa challenged us to create a round card. I made mine into an ornament shape:

Anne Marie challenged us to use a sketch by Allison Cope from her So Sketchy site. This is the layout I came up with based on this sketch:

Summerfest Week 9

Here are the final two challenges that I did for last week's Summerfest challenges at The Scrapping Nook.

For the Picture Perfect layout we were required to use at least 9 photos for a double page layout. I thought this was the perfect opportunity to scrap the photos we took at the Michael W. Smith concert at Copps Coliseum in Hamilton on May 16, 2009. I wish we'd had a better camera, but we did get some nice photos. The concert promotional poster image is from the internet. The papers are all from the new Bo Bunny Gypsy line. I was inspired by a Sketch Lover's sketch for this layout.

The journaling reads "The power of the Holy Spirit rocked the Coliseum. Smitty was amazing - he delivered the message from our Lord and Saviour. Our God is an awesome God!!! He reigns!!! Praise the Lord!"

Our sketch challenge for this week was from PageMaps. I combined some Bazzill cardstock with the Road Signs line from Reminisce for this layout. The title was done with American Crafts Thickers.

The journaling reads "Samuel loved the digger when we stopped for corn at Gillespie's. August 15, 2009." I'm pretty sure we are going to have to get him one of these to play with.

Oh Boy!!!

Our sketch challenge for this week at The Scrapping Nook's Summerfest was from Pagemaps. I changed the positioning of the photos and left off the flower, but for the most part my layout goes with the sketch.

I used some new Collage Press papers I picked up at The Scrapping Nook on our way home from our visit to Niagara Falls. The bling title is from Sandylion and the journaling tag is from Anna Griffin.

The photos of Samuel were taken at breakfast on Saturday morning. We ate at Denny's and everyone kept commenting on how cute he is. I love these pics!!!!
