WeScrap Boot Camp

I had two assignments last week for the WeScrap DT Boot Camp. 

One was to complete the challenge posted by GoingCrazy to use punches on a layout. I created "It's Bunny Time" to showcase this adorable photo of Sara with the Easter Bunny at Springridge Farm. I used three different border punches, two different corner punches, and two different circle punches on the layout.

The other challenge was Combat Surveillance. We had to use the resources available on the WeScrap site to create a challenge. I used a quote from the quotes section, a font from the fonts section, and a sketch that was posted in the scrapbook sketches area. I added to my challenge that it had to be a Winnie The Pooh quote, there had to be some hand cutting, and there had to be at least one element of machine cutting or die cutting.

Our final challenge this week involves working as a small group to plan an online crop. I'm very excited about this challenge. My group already has many great ideas bouncing around for what we might do.

Scrapfest Make and Takes

Another wonderful Scrapfest is now over -- and what a great one it was too!!!! I got to spend some fun time with my Mom, I helped out my great Turtle friends, had lots of laughs, a fun dinner on Saturday, spent way too much money (no surprise there lol), and managed to squeeze in a few make and takes.

 

This gorgeous mini album was designed by Lori at The Scrapping Turtle. I helped run this one for a little while, until the much more capable Teresa took over.

This adorable owl card was designed by All About Scrapbooks. I am so delighted that I was able to do an owl card!!!!!!

This cute little stamped card is a Creative Memories card.

This beautiful card was designed by Melanie at The Scrapping Bug. I thought I'd missed my

 chance to create in on Friday, but Melanie brought it back out on Saturday. I was so happy!!! Thanks Melanie!!!!

This wonderful Spring layout was from Lucy at Simply Scrapping and was led by the very wonderful Louisa.

This cool waterfall card was Saturday's make and take at The Scrapping Turtle. I was able to create one while helping to run the make and take for awhile. I love this idea and hope to use it again.

Mom was able to get a few more make and takes done, but still didn't get to do all of them. We saw some really awesome ones as we were walking around, but neither of us was up to standing in the long lines to wait our turn to do them. I was sad that I didn't get to do the make and takes offered by Two Scrapbook Friends and The Learning Factory, among others. I also forgot to get a ticket for the little mini class offered by Simply Scrapping at the Go Scrapping classroom. 

I had a blast, especially hanging with my Turtle friends!!!! I'll try to post some Scrapfest pics later.

My Scrapping Turtle Guest Design Team Reveal

Yesterday was the big reveal at The Scrapping Turtle. The girls did a fabulous job with the American Crafts kits we were given to create with. You really should visit the forum and see the wonderful DT creations!!!! 

For the big reveal I created three layouts. This is in addition to my sneak peak, which was posted here.

I hand cut the butterflies from the AC paper for "Flutter By" and added some Stickles to each one. I used my QK branch border die and the QK scallop border die. I painted the AC Thickers, then added some faux stitching to each letter. The photos were taken at Wings of Paradise last summer. Sara wasn't happy that I made her stop long enough for a picture to be taken.

For "I Wind & I Flied", I covered the chipboard Thickers with paper then inked them. I used my new QK cloud border die. I hand cut the kites and the mini scalloped border from the paper. The photos were taken at Springridge Farm during the Easter Festival. Sara really loved the hay mound.

"Sweet" uses my Diesel QK font and my QK ice cream cone die. I used my Fiskars Effervesence punch as well. I had cut the mini scalloped border around the photos and added some Stickles to the ice cream on the paper. Photos are from last summer, when Sammy enjoyed his first ice cream cone at Indulge.

Layout Sketch

This week's Design Team challenge at The Scrapping Turtle was Regan's layout sketch. I used the Basic Grey Marrakech line for this layout of Sara and Sam on his fire truck. Thanks for the great sketch Regan!!!!!

5x5 Now 6x6 Reveal

I participated in another 5x5 challenge on The Scrapping Turtle forum. It became a 6x6 because there were six of us who wanted to participate. Carolyn sent us a lovely envelope of goodies to work with. Thanks Carolyn!!!!!

Quickutz Anonymous Homework

Last month Lori at The Scrapping Turtle assigned us homework for our Quickutz Anonymous class. She gave each of us an envelope of goodies that we had to take home and use to create something. The envelope contained a full mini font, the scalloped square, the striped paper, a clover, an egg, a chick, a bunny, a pot and a horseshoe. I used these items to create this card. I added the yellow cardstock, some doodling, and some Stickles.

Brenda in today's QA class managed to use all but a handful of the letters in the font. I was very impressed!!! And her layout was absolutely beautiful. Way to go Brenda!!!!!
