Easter Card - Two Scrapbook Friends Style

Mom and I went to visit the wonderful ladies at Two Scrapbook Friends. They had a delightful little make and take Easter card today, which Mom and I were happy to take part in. Isn't it darling? Carolyn comes up with the cutest cards. There's a little bit of embossing across the bottom where the Stickles are, in case it doesn't show well enough in the photo. I think I will give it to the Easter Bunny and tell him to give it to me on Sunday :)

Easter Card

I made this little card for a challenge. The challenge was to make a shaped card. So I made an Easter egg. I think it is cute, but I'm not sure what I will add to it now. Maybe I will just leave the outside as it is and add a sentiment to the inside.

Boot Camp

I just finished posting my first assignment for the DT Boot Camp at WeScrap. This one was all about basic training, so I created a challenge that involves only having some basic materials. My challenge is to create a layout using only 1 piece of white cardstock for the background, 1 piece of patterned paper, 1 photo, black ink, a title, hand written journaling, and at least two circles.

Here is my example for my challenge:

Scrapling

Tracey's card challenge at The Scrapping Turtle was to make a scrapling. This is a mini card, approximately 1.25" by 4.25". She also wanted it to include an element created with the Quickutz, but you don't have to do that. If you create one, let me know. Better yet, come on over to The Scrapping Turtle, join for free and share your scrapling with all of us.

Here is the card that I created. The lamb is a Quickutz die and the stamp if from Technique Tuesday. I used my Fiskars corner punch to do the corners.

***On another note: I have somehow torn something in my right shoulder (figures it would be the right one when I'm right handed) so I'm not able to scrap the way I was right now. I can still do it, depending on how the arm feels, but I may be a little slower getting the layouts out for awhile. I'm hoping it won't be too long before they are able to fix it. Unfortunately it interfered with my getting much of anything done for the WeScrap online crop this weekend, which I'm very sad about. Hopefully it won't interfere with the Boot Camp they are holding starting today.

Exciting News!!!!

Today is a very exciting day for me -- it is the first day of my month as Guest Design Team member for The Scrapping Turtle Design Team. I am so excited and honoured to be part of the amazing team they have put together. Check out the announcement on The Scrapping Turtle blog. 

This month we were given some awesome new papers from American Crafts. I was lucky enough to work with the Backyard line. I also was given the naked chipboard Thickers to work with. I inked them with Adirondack Bright Yellow ink, then added some highlighting dots with my white pen. The letters in raincoat are also done in Glossy Accents. I used my Quickutz Rockstar font for the word Spring, adding some Stickles to make them sparkle. I also used my Quickutz tulip and raindrops dies.

Today we also revealed the product highlight for the month of April. Bazzill InStitch'z sewing templates. These templates are awesome and so versatile. The Design Team worked on showing some of the different ways these templates can be used --- and it includes more than just sewing!!!!! For my layout I used the templates to punch the border around the outside, then used my Glaze pen to do some faux stitching. I then used the templates with my Glaze pen (no punching) to create the zig zag around the photo, as well as the flourishes around my title. Using my journaling pen and the templates I created my title.  Oh, I used two different Quickutz borders on this layout - Scallops and Flowers.
