Big News!!!

I am back for a second term on the Scrapping Turtle Design Team!!!! Woo hoo!!!! I am so excited!! I had a blast during my first term and worked with some phenomenal ladies. Now I'm blessed enough to have been asked back for a second term to work with a new group of super talented ladies. Congratulations to my fellow Design Team members -- Shelley, Vicki, Tanya and Lizzie!!! I'm thrilled to be on the team with you :)

This month we are working with Fancy Pants papers. I love Fancy Pants and the newest releases are fabulous. I was given the About A Girl line -- love it!!! The papers are sooooo pretty!!! Here is my sneak peek for May -- Beauty Blooms From Within. The photo was taken in our hotel room in Toronto when we went to see King Tut in April. Sara loves staying in a hotel because it is such a treat.

Our first challenge of the new term was a card challenge. Lizzie challenged us to use a pinwheel on a card. Here is what I came up with. The pinwheel actually turns so that it goes with the sentiment. I made it at the National Scrapbook Day crop at the Scrapping Turtle on Saturday.

Stay tuned for the Product of the Month project :)

Projects

I've been meaning to post these for awhile, but it kept slipping my mind. I created these projects in August for my Design Team application at the Scrapping Turtle. I tried to use a lot of Quickutz on my projects. I was accepted to the team, so I guess my projects were a hit LOL.

I Made It and Today It Is Official!!!!!

I am delighted to announce that today is the first day of my term as a Scrapping Turtle Design Team member. I am thrilled and excited!!!!!!! I worked very hard to get my application completed and submitted before I left on vacation in September, then I worried and wondered and hoped. I think I cried with joy when I was asked to join the team. It was so hard not to shout it from the roof tops when I first found out, but I managed to keep it a secret until today when the official announcement was made. I am deeply honoured to be a member of the Turtle Design Team. The next six months are going to be a blast!!!!!

Today was Sneak Peek day, in which we post a layout created with our Design Team kits as a preview of the big reveal on the 15th. For our first kits we were given papers by Dream Street. Each DT member received a different line. The line I received is my favourite --- Sam :) How could I not love this line? It's named after my own sweet Sam (okay, so they didn't name it after HIM specifically, but you get the idea LOL). It is a great Autumn coloured line and I love all of the fabulous owls. The line also includes adorable rub ons and chipboard shapes. Love it!!!

To create my layout I used Bazzill cardstock, Colorbox Ink, Ranger Crackle Paint in Pine Needles, Sakura Gelly Roll pen, Kaiser Craft Rhinestones, and Quickutz dies (Scallop border, Sign, Birds, Grass, and some scraps from a Flourish I used on a previous layout).

Please stop by the Scrapping Turtle blog to see the fabulous Sneak Peeks posted by my fellow Design Team members -- Mellissa, Marissa, Anne Marie, Tracey and our guest DT member Vicki. They all did a fantastic job with their kits. I am thrilled to be working with these wonderful ladies!!!!

If you aren't a member of the Scrapping Turtle forum (Turtle Soup), please come and join us. It is a wonderful place to hang out, meet new friends, and be inspired. I hope you will become a Turtle too :)

Exciting News!!!!

Today is a very exciting day for me -- it is the first day of my month as Guest Design Team member for The Scrapping Turtle Design Team. I am so excited and honoured to be part of the amazing team they have put together. Check out the announcement on The Scrapping Turtle blog

This month we were given some awesome new papers from American Crafts. I was lucky enough to work with the Backyard line. I also was given the naked chipboard Thickers to work with. I inked them with Adirondack Bright Yellow ink, then added some highlighting dots with my white pen. The letters in raincoat are also done in Glossy Accents. I used my Quickutz Rockstar font for the word Spring, adding some Stickles to make them sparkle. I also used my Quickutz tulip and raindrops dies.

Today we also revealed the product highlight for the month of April. Bazzill InStitch'z sewing templates. These templates are awesome and so versatile. The Design Team worked on showing some of the different ways these templates can be used --- and it includes more than just sewing!!!!! For my layout I used the templates to punch the border around the outside, then used my Glaze pen to do some faux stitching. I then used the templates with my Glaze pen (no punching) to create the zig zag around the photo, as well as the flourishes around my title. Using my journaling pen and the templates I created my title.  Oh, I used two different Quickutz borders on this layout - Scallops and Flowers.

Hop on over to The Scrapping Turtle forum to see the rest of the fabulous work by this month's Design Team. They are an  awesome group of ladies!!!!! If you aren't a member of the forum I hope you will sign up. We are always thrilled to welcome new members to the Turtle Pond.

I'd like to say a huge THANK YOU to Hannah, Lori and the awesome Scrapping Turtle team for giving me this wonderful opportunity!!!!! I love The Scrapping Turtle and I'm thrilled to have this chance to be part of the team!!!!

THE SCRAPPING TURTLE ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!
