Lucky 7

I was challenged to use seven manufacturers - no more, no less - for the Lucky 7 challenge at The Scrapping Nook. I used Basic Grey, Color Box, Sandylion, DCWV, The Paper Company, Me & My Big Ideas, and Zig. I adore this photo of Sara taking her 'friends' for a ride on the fire truck. I think she loves Sam's fire truck as much as he does.

Two More Layouts

I've completed two more layouts for the IceCROPades crop at The Scrapping Nook. 

"I Hope You Dance" is for the Sing With Me challenge. We had to use the lyrics to the song "I Hope You Dance" by LeeAnn Womack. For my layout the lyrics are printed on the photo mat.

"Believe" is for the Full Stop challenge. We had to use at least two different types of punctuation on a layout. I used brackets and an exclamation point. This layout was based on a sketch by Allison Cope (who creates amazing sketches) that was posted on the Scrapbook and Cards Today blog. I used it as an opportunity to do a layout about my word for 2009.

Another Layout for a Challenge

One of this week's challenges at The Scrapping Nook was to create a layout using the word Embrace. I created Gammy's Embrace using My Little Yellow Bicycle Love Letters, Bazzill cardstock, some Stickles, and American Crafts Thickers. 

I love the relationship between my Mom and my daughter. It is so delightful to watch. Their love for each other is wonderful and they have so much fun together.

Fab Friday Frenzy Online Crop Part 2

Whew!!!! It took me most of the weekend, but I managed to finish all twenty of the challenges at The Scrapping Nook for the Fab Friday Frenzy online crop.

It's All Mine was for the 1 to 10 challenge: I had to use 10 different things on the layout in the applicable quantities. I used:

1 ink

2 photo mats

3 different patterned papers

4 photo corners

5 stickers

6 photos

7 acrylic butterflies

8 buttons

9 brads

10 letters in the title

For the Image challenge I created the XOX card. I am not happy with this card. It looked much better in my brain LOL. The image was a very nice photo of the doors to Massey Hall. I apologize for the fact that my card doesn't do justice to the nice photo.

I like the card I made for Ad challenge # 1 better. I used the basic design of the ad to create this card.

The second Ad challenge reminded me of one of the wond

erful Sassafras Lass papers. So I used one of the Serendipity line to create Li'l Picasso.

 

Zehnders Splash Village was created for the Layout Less Than $5.00 challenge. The patterned paper was on sale this weekend and was only 25 cents. The cardstock was only 67 cents. The only other consumable I used was Glossy Accents. Definitely under $5.00.

Sadly I created another grim little card for the Win, Lose and DRAW challenge. I think this one definitely falls into the lose category. I'm going to try hard to lose it as soon as possible. I can't draw to begin with, so why I thought I could draw late at night I'll never know.

We were given a nice quote for the Quote challenge, so I used it on It's Me! I'm 3! Much better than that card up above LOL.

Scrapping With The Oldies required us to use at least three items that are at least two years old. I found three papers and used them on this card. The flower is cut from one of the papers.

What's Up Sam? is for the Single and Loving It challenge. I had to use only one manufacturer, so I used my favourite Basic Grey line Archaic. Love this photo of Sam.

How The Years Go By was created for the Regis I'd Like To Use A Lifeline challenge. I can't believe my beautiful girl is three already!!! Look how much she has grown!!!!

The Colour Your World challenge required us to use the colours in the Prima Dude line. I happened to have some of that line so I used a bunch of it on {Dude!}. Love Sam's expression!!!!

The For The Love of Karen T challenge was all about the embellishments. Karen T. creates beautiful layouts with tons of embellishments. I don't think I did her justice with my Merry & Bright layout, but I tried.

How Tweet was created for the Bare Necessities challenge. We were only allowed to use one piece of cardstock and one piece of patterned paper, plus a title. I cut all the branches, leaves and birds from the patterned paper to create the look I wanted. I love this photo of Sam!!!!

We were required to use our scraps for the Just Scrap It challenge. These papers are the same Prima Dude papers that were used for the {Dude!} layout above, except that I used the reverse side of all but one of them. Makes a pretty nice card.

We were given a very specific recipe for the Stash "Stew" challenge - 1 sheet of cardstock, 3 styles of patterned paper, 5 brads, 11 buttons, 1 piece of ribbon, 2 different fonts (one of mine is Heather's Handwriting lol), and a splash of glitter/stickles/bling. I thought the new Basic Grey Bittersweet line was perfect for this wonderful picture of Sara and her Gammy.

The final challenge was the A Year To Remember challenge. We were required to scrapbook about the highlights and/or lowlights of 2008. I created this layout with a short summary of our year by month.

So after a whirlwind weekend that included a birthday party for Sara and three days of not feeling well, I completed all 20 challenges. I'm quite proud of myself for achieving that. Now to get to work on the regular challenges for the IceCROPades!!!!!

Fab Friday Frenzy Online Crop

The Scrapping Nook is holding an online crop this weekend in connection with the IceCROPades. There are a whole bunch of challenges posted in the forum --- all of which are absolutely awesome!!!! I'm trying to get as many done as possible. Here are my first three.

Right Now was for the Wish You Were "Hear" challenge. We had to do a layout about what we could hear at this moment. At the time the TV was showing Chain Reaction while my hubby was snoring away.

Funny Girl was for the A Bit "Sketchy" challenge. I used my QuicKutz Revolution and my new vine die for this layout. I love how it turned out!!!!!

Samster was completed for the 5 in 1 challenge. We had to used five photos on a single page layout. I was inspired by a layout created by Barb Wong and shared on the Scrapbooks and Cards today blog for this one. The stars were punched out and covered with Glossy Accents.

It's a Challenge

I finally finished all of the challenges posted this week at The Scrapping Nook for the IceCROPades online crop. Here are the layouts I did this week.

Our Haven was for the In The Still of the Night challenge. I created a layout about our beautiful bed. I used coloured pencils and  Stickles to highlight the flower.

Pick Me was for the Tara Tara Bo Bara scraplift challenge. I added Stickles to the flowers and letters, and used Liquid Pearls on the circle. The photo is of Sara at the apple orchard last fall.

Sweet Joy was for the Ad challenge. I was inspired to try to recreate the one ad as a type of frame around my photo. It was a lot of measuring and cutting, but I think it was well worth it. The photo was taken yesterday.

Winter Wonder Online Crop

I had a pretty busy weekend so I wasn't able to participate in the Winter Wonder Online Crop at The Scrapping Bug the way I would have liked to. I love their online crops!!!! The ladies on the Design Team are so talented and have great ideas. I have a list of challenges I hope to get done in the near future. I did manage to get three of the challenges done, as well as a couple of games. I had fun and look forward to the next one!!!

The first challenge I completed was the Bright and Cheery challenge. We were to scrap a Spring or Summer photo with bright cheery colours. I came up with Spring Beauty, a layout of the beautiful iris that grew beside our driveway last Spring. I stamped the flourishes then added Black Diamond Stickles to them.

The second challenge I did was the Card Sketch challenge. We were given a great sketch to work from and I created my card. I used October Afternoon papers and a cute stamp set from Prima. I actually really like this card.

The final challenge that I completed before the deadline was the Embrace challenge. We were required to use the word 'embrace', add some bling and use one tag. I used this beautiful diecut paper and bracket overlay from My Little Yellow Bicycle, some Prima bling and a tag I punched out. I stamped it with a Studio G stamp, then used my Gelly Roll clear star pen on it and to trace the title letters (Pink Paisley). I even outlined the overlay with Glossy Accents.
